Curcumin supplementation improves blood levels of key molecules in patients with metabolic syndrome.

Researchers from Perth Australia and Iran performed a double-blind study of the effects of curcumin supplementation on two molecules that important in patients with metabolic syndrome.  In the treated group (1000mg per day for 8 weeks) blood levels of adiponectin were significantly increased and blood levels of leptin were significantly reduced.  The conclusion was that curcumin supplementation improved levels of these molecules in patients with metabolic syndrome.
