Acute increases in circulating endothelial progenitor and angiogenic cells caused by exercise.

This study investigates the effects of a single episode of exercise to find out if it could acutely increase the numbers of endothelial progenitor cells (EPCs) and cultured/circulating angiogenic cells (CACs) in humans. The conclusion demonstrates that exercise can acutely increase EPCs and CACs, valuable cells in the promotion of angiogenesis and vascular regeneration.
