New cancer therapies are being directed against the blood vessel supply that feeds tumors. This paper discusses the view that destroying tumor vasculature deprives a tumor of oxygen and nutrients. An understanding of the cellular underpinnings of vascular normalization may lead to more effective therapies on the new frontier of regenerative medicine.
