Progenitor endothelial cells for angiogenesis.

The study notes that in animal models of ischemia, heterologous, homologous, and autologous endothelial cell progenitors homed to sites of active angiogenesis. They conclude that their findings may be useful for therapeutic angiogenesis, and for delivering anti- or pro-angiogenic agents to sites of pathologic or utilitarian angiogenesis as needed.
