Inhibitors of endothelial stem cells and how to reverse the damage.

This study points out that patients with reduced numbers of endothelial progenitor cells (EPCs) are at increased risk for coronary artery disease. It finds that asymmetric dimethylarginine (ADMA) in inhibiting nitric oxide (which regulates EPCs in mobilization and function) shows an inverse correlation between ADMA and EPC numbers. ADMA’s inhibitions can be reversed.
