Endothelial dysfunction in cirrhosis and the role of inflammation.

This review describes the recent developments in the pathobiology of endothelial dysfunction in the context of cirrhosis of the liver, and defines novel strategies and potential targets for therapy. Furthermore, they show that elevated inflammatory markers also inhibit nitric oxide synthesis and causes endothelial dysfunction in cirrhotic liver.
