Allogeneic blood progenitor-cell transplantation as treatment for lymphoid malignancies.

In this study, treatments of chemotherapy in chronic lymphocytic leukemia and lymphoma patients were followed by allogeneic stem-cell infusions from HLA-identical siblings. Eleven patients had engraftment of donor cells, and the remaining four patients promptly recovered autologous hematopoiesis. These findings indicate the feasibility of allogeneic hematopoietic transplantation to produce engraftment and graft-versus-leukemia/lymphoma against lymphoid malignancies.
